The existing single-story residence, originally built in 1948, occupies a prominent position on the site but does not fully take advantage of its scale, elevation, or potential.
Recognizing the opportunity, the homeowner commissioned Grade to design and develop a more fitting contemporary residence. The new design introduces a three-story home, carefully positioned to respond to the site’s topography and maximize views, privacy, and usable outdoor space.
The architecture is defined by warm, natural material, creating a home that feels modern but still comfortable. An open floor plan and layered textures bring in light and softness, avoiding the starkness often associated with contemporary homes.
